BILLET STEEL CRANKSHAFTS

- Introducing "BILLET STEEL CRANKSHAFTS" -

My Billet Steel Crankshaft product updates the Corvair engine 45 years...It can take three OEM cranks to find one that is not cracked..

The crankshaft, being the heart of an engine must be fully counter-weighted. Most modern engine crankshafts are fully counter-weighted. This takes the bending and twisting out of the crankshaft. It provides a smoother running engine and allows higher RPMs to be reached. This is especially important in aircraft engines to overcome the gyroscopic force of a propeller.

"My Billet Steel Crankshafts"

are made from 4340 steel billet that have been line-bored, undercut pendulums, knife- edge machined, and partially drilled rod journals, all to keep the weight down to a mere 2oz. heavier than the original crankshaft. The crankshafts have also been heat treated, shot peened, nitrided, and micro-polished. The late model block will need "minor" clearancing to make room for the counter-weights. Presently, all I have in stock is .250 longer stroke crankshafts...so you'll need a set of my 4340 forged steel stroker connecting rods.
